Jane Pearsallīs Poem

I love my job at Burcot Grange
Some of you will find that strange;
Washing, ironing, pressing of clothes,
But as you see, thatīs what I chose.

Into the washer, then into the tumble,
But sometimes I will have a grumble:
"Have you took those clothes" I say,
"Those were in there yesterday!"

"Oh no, sheīs here again" they groan,
"Sorry girls, but I have to have a moan."
"Why?" you ask, "What is the attraction?"
For me itīs job satisfaction.

I try and help wherever I can,
But Iīm a woman and not a man.
I like to go home every night,
Knowing that I have done it right.
